“Amazing things can happen when you follow your dreams and aren't afraid to jump off into the unknown.”

Elizabeth Pepin (1964-)
Acclaimed photographer of the women’s surf scene, author, surfer, and winner of five Emmy Awards for her documentaries; Elizabeth has an extraordinary gift for conveying her vision and voice. She has traveled to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii to ride the waves, and to photograph women’s surfing. Her latest images, entitled, Waterwomen, challenge the stereotypes of women who surf. She regards current female surfers as women who are, “really pushing the boundaries of big wave surfing.” Not only has she been the principle photographer of several surf books (her work also appears in magazines, galleries and museums) but she authored a San Francisco jazz book, Harlem of the West – soon to be a Smithsonian traveling museum exhibit.
