Roz Savage (1967 -)
"I used to think that adventurers all had to have steely eyes, a military training... and a beard. That mindset held me back for 11 years, working in an office, doing a job I didn't like to buy stuff I didn't need. I feel so lucky to have got out of the office and onto the ocean for a life of adventure.” In 2005, she entered the 3,000 mile Atlantic Rowing Race – solo, and became the first woman to complete the race. In 2008 she became the first woman to row solo from California to Hawaii, and in 2010 she became the first woman to row solo across the Pacific Ocean. Roz is a United Nations Climate Hero, and is one of the Top 20 Great British Adventurers by the Daily Telegraph, the Top 10 Adventure Twitters by Outside Magazine.
