The gentle rolling hills and sleepy ancient remains give Wales a surprising romantic presence.  Sloping scenery, stone walls, quiet villages and delicious pub lunches only add to the relaxing pleasure of this area.  Adventure Woman recommends visiting Conway Castle in north Wales, the Wye Valley with its famous Norman castle (the first stone-built castle in Great Britain), and riding the Snowdon Mountain Railway.  Welsh hospitality is beyond wonderful; making this a great time to explore the quaint and charming B&Bs that dot the spectacular countryside.
